Running the account
Billing and plans
Changing plan, updating the card, cancelling, and what happens if a payment does not go through. Everything here is on the Billing tab and is visible to the Owner only.
Who handles the money
Payments run through Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle takes the card details, issues the invoice and handles the tax, and your card number never reaches DataBelta. If you need a copy of an invoice or a VAT receipt, it comes from Paddle.
What the Billing tab tells you
- Your plan, what it costs and whether it is billed monthly or yearly.
- The status of the subscription: trialing, active, cancelling, or past due.
- The date of the next payment, or the date the trial ends and the first payment is taken.
- Credits used so far in the current period.
- Any change you have scheduled but that has not taken effect yet.
Change plan
- 1Open Settings and choose Billing.
- 2Press the button to change plan and pick the one you want.
- 3Review the preview. It tells you what you will be charged and when, before anything is committed.
- 4Confirm.
Monthly or yearly
Yearly billing is charged once for the year and works out cheaper per month. Monthly billing gives you the freedom to stop at short notice. Both give exactly the same product.
Update the card
Use the option to update the payment method on the Billing tab. It opens Paddle's secure form. Do this before the card on file expires, because a failed renewal ends access on the day the current period runs out.
Cancel
- 1Open Settings, choose Billing, and press the cancel option.
- 2Confirm. The tab then shows the date your subscription ends.
- 3You keep full access until that date. Nothing is cut off early, because you have paid to the end of the period.
What lapsing actually does
Chat stops, with a message explaining why and a link for the Owner to start the subscription again. Everything else stays readable: your dashboard, your saved charts, tables, maps and files.
Nothing is deleted because a payment was missed. Renewing brings chat straight back with your data, your connections and your saved work exactly as they were.
Refunds and bespoke plans
The refund terms are on the refund policy page of this site. If your team is larger than the published plans, or you need terms that do not fit a self-serve subscription, contact us and we will set it up directly.
