What DataBelta is
DataBelta connects to the database you already run and lets anyone on your team ask it questions in plain language. This page explains the pieces before the rest of the guide takes them one at a time.
Your numbers already exist. They sit in an ERP, a CRM, a point of sale system or an online store, and getting an answer out of them usually means asking someone to write a query, build a report or export a sheet. DataBelta removes that step. You connect the database once, then you type the question the way you would say it out loud, and the answer comes back as a chart, a table, a map or a file you can send to someone.
The assistant is called Belta. It reads your database structure, works out which tables answer the question, runs the query, and explains what it found. It answers in the language you asked in, including Arabic.
The four things you will meet
- The workspace. Everything belongs to one workspace: your databases, your members, your saved work and your subscription. You belong to exactly one workspace.
- The connection. A database you have linked, or a spreadsheet you have uploaded. A workspace can have several, and you choose which one a question is asked against.
- The chat. Where you ask. Every answer keeps its context, so you can follow up without repeating yourself.
- Saved items. Any chart, table, map or file worth keeping goes to its own page, where it can be refreshed later, shared with the team, and pinned to your dashboard.
What a question actually does
When you send a message, Belta looks at the tables in your connection, decides what it needs, and runs one or more read commands against them. It can only read. It has no way to insert, update, delete or change anything, and that limit is enforced by the platform rather than by an instruction to the assistant.
If your question suggests a picture, ask for one. Turning on Chart, Table, Map or File before you send tells Belta what shape the answer should take. Only one of the four can be on at a time, because a single answer produces a single output.
