Running the account

Account and security

Your profile, your password, two-factor authentication, and the timezone setting that quietly decides what last month means.

Your profile

Settings, then Account.

  • Profile picture. Upload one or remove the one you have. It appears beside your messages and your saved work.
  • Display name. What colleagues see. Change it whenever you like.
  • Email address. Changing it needs a confirmation on the new address before it takes effect, so a typo cannot lock you out.
  • Timezone.

Change your password

Settings, then Security.

  1. 1Enter your current password.
  2. 2Enter the new one. It needs at least eight characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a digit.
  3. 3Confirm it and save.

If you have forgotten it

Use the forgot password link on the sign-in page. A reset link is sent to your address and can be used once. If you request more than one, use the most recent email.

Turn on two-factor authentication

Settings, then Security. There are two methods and you can enable either.

  1. 1Email verification sends a code to your address each time you sign in. Press Enable and confirm.
  2. 2An authenticator app is stronger. Press Enable, scan the code with your app, and type the six-digit code it shows to confirm.
  3. 3Save the recovery codes you are given. Each one works once and they are how you get back in if you lose the phone.

How signing in works with 2FA on

You enter your email and password as usual, then a code. Only after the code is accepted are you signed in. Turning 2FA off requires your password, so someone who has walked up to an unlocked laptop cannot quietly remove it.

Getting help

The Support tab in Settings carries our address, info@databelta.com, and opens your mail program on it. The contact form on this site works for anyone without an account. If your question is about an invoice or a receipt, mention that: those come from Paddle and we will point you at the right place.
